Everything’s Bigger in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park California

Now that we were in the heart of Big Sur, it was a must to visit Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park and take a close-up look at California’s infamous redwood trees. No joke, these things were GIGANTIC! I can only imagine how old they are?

So tiny next to these giant trees!
We could even fit inside some of them.

After getting a good look at the redwoods, we continued on a waterfall trail. Before we entered, there was a sign that warned visitors of the possible presence of cougars (?!) and that we should make a lot of noise to scare them away. Oh, and btw, parents should keep their children close. WHOA. Goin’ on a real adventure here.

It seems like everything around here was bigger than usual – would you look at the size of these clovers?! Big Sur was aptly named, I’ll say.

The view along our trail ain’t too bad, either.

After a little over an hour, we finally reached the end, Pfeiffer Falls! Pretty 🙂

One of my favorite things about hiking in Big Sur was that every trail we took was not crowded. Maybe we just came at the right time of the year? Anyway, it was nice getting to explore nature’s gems at our own pace. I have concluded that Big Sur was one of my favorite places on this California road trip, and that I’ll have to return again in the future!

Have you ever been to Big Sur? What did you like about it?

Thanks for reading!
