Kina Grannis – Elements Tour

I don’t go to a lot of concerts (living on a college student budget here), but when I saw Kina Grannis was coming to town, I had to go see her! I have two stipulations when attending concerts: 1) I must really, really like the artist and 2) I need to know several songs so at the least, I can sing along to what little lyrics I know. I’ve been listening to Kina Grannis since high school, so I knew her music well enough to enjoy a live concert. After seeing this Youtube star for so long on my computer screen, it was nice to at last, see her in person 🙂

Her husband, Imaginary Future, opened for her:

His songs were SUPER mellow. And he had a smooth, soothing voice. Now I can understand how people listen to his music while studying or falling asleep, haha.

Finally, the little lady herself:

Like any good fan, I took a picture of the song list. So glad she played her cover of “Sweater Weather,” one of my favorite covers.

Kina Grannis Elements Tour Q&A
I learned that Kina doesn’t necessarily like spiders, but likes lizards. Very much.

She is the most adorable person.

Wouldn’t you agree?!
Kina Grannis Shoes
Since I was standing in the front row right by the stage, her shoes were at my eye level. Strong shoe game. Much approve.

I learned that she won a contest where her original song, Message From Your Heart was played during the 2008 Superbowl. That was also when/how she started her Youtube channel, so that people could vote for her to win! From Youtube artist to performing worldwide tours. Dang Kina.

Not only was she cute and adorable, but she was also nice! She invited fans to come up and sing this original song with her on stage.

I think I have a new #wcw. Like, I just want us to meet and be friends…T_T

Duet with Imaginary Future

It was a solid performance – she was on pitch (from what I could tell) and sounded just like she did on the album. I respect artists who can really sing (without autotune, without background vocals, etc.) – after all, isn’t that what singers are supposed to do?! Listen for yourself:
